Applications have been opened for University College Cork’s (UCC) CC MSc in Clinical Pharmacy. This is part-time two-year distance learning Master’s Degree offered by the School of Pharmacy, and will commence in September 2026.
UCC’s School of Pharmacy say the programme is structured to provide specialist training to enable pharmacists to extend their professional role and take on more advanced responsibilities in patient care within the evolving clinical healthcare system: “The programme will develop a greater understanding of the major pharmacotherapeutic issues of various disease states in order to develop a greater understanding of the particular needs of patients with these diseases. It will also provide graduates with the skills needed to become leaders in clinical pharmacy services, such as critical appraisal of drug therapies, rational drug use (including pharmacoeconomic evaluation), medication safety management, research project management, presentation skills and report writing.”
The distance learning format allows students to remain in employment throughout the programme. Students will be able to communicate with each other and the teaching staff by means of regular webinars and interactive internet systems.
Applicants must hold a primary pharmacy degree and ideally, should have a minimum of one-year practical experience. Applicants must be registered as a pharmacist with the professional accreditation authority in the country in which they are practicing.
