High-Tech Arrangement
A Patient-Specific Pharmaceutical Care and Treatment Initiative.
The High-Tech Arrangement, initiated in November 1996, facilitates the supply and dispensing of High-Tech medicines through Community Pharmacies. Under this arrangement, the HSE purchases the medicines and distributes them via Community Pharmacies. In return, pharmacies receive a patient care fee from the Primary Care Reimbursement Service on a monthly basis. The coordination of this arrangement is centralized through the PCRS High-Tech Coordination Unit.
