Home » Updates on ePortfolio Review 2026/27 and link between engagement with CPD and continued registration
In August, the PSI contacted all members with updates on ePortfolio Review standards, ePortfolio exemption policy and information on the link between engagement with CPD and continued registration.
ePortfolio Review 2026/27
All pharmacists who registered with the PSI before 1 January 2026 are eligible and expected to participate in ePortfolio Review 2026/27 by submitting an extract of their ePortfolio for review through the Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP) portal in January 2027 and on an annual basis thereafter. This includes pharmacists who participated in ePortfolio Review 2025/26.
For those pharmacists who joined the register in 2026, they will be expected to participate in ePortfolio Review from 2027/28 onwards.
ePortfolio Review 2026/27 Standards
The IIOP has published its ePortfolio Review Standards for 2026/27. These standards require eligible pharmacists to submit four CPD cycles from 2026 as part of their ePortfolio Review submission. They are available to view on the ePortfolio review page on the IIOP website.
ePortfolio exemption applications
The PSI have updated their ePortfolio exemption policy and the exemption application form is now available online within your account on the PSI Registration Portal. Further information on ePortfolio exemptions can be found on the PSI website > Education and Training > CPD > Applying for an exemption.
Link between engagement with CPD and continued registration
Following amendments to the PSI registration rules in 2025, engagement in CPD is now directly linked to continued registration. From 2027, where a pharmacist does not engage in ePortfolio Review and has not been granted an exemption, the PSI Council can propose to refuse their application for continued registration on the grounds of failure to comply with CPD requirements.
If you have any questions on the ePortfolio Review Standards please contact the IIOP directly at info@iiop.ie or if you have any questions on the link between engagement with CPD and continued registration please contact the PSI directly at cpd@psi.ie.
