Pharmacy in the Community is a new section in the IPU Review and we want to hear your stories!
Send us in stories of local initiatives you are undertaking, and how your pharmacy is supporting people in your community, or use this page to highlight a colleague you believe goes out of their way to help people who come into the pharmacy.
We would like to make this a community page for pharmacists and their teams to share stories of their impact on their local area. Please contact us on ipureview@ipu.ie.
Wicklow pharmacy raises more than €3,000 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital
Armstrong Life Pharmacy raised over €3,000 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital at a hugely successful spin-a-thon fundraiser on 31 March.
The Wicklow community were out in force for the ‘Pedal for Crumlin’ fundraiser, taking turns pedalling two stationary bikes throughout the day and making generous donations in support of the vital, life saving services provided for the sick children who attend Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
Alongside the fundraising cycle, fitness guru and health advisor Karl Henry from Operation Transformation dropped by to give a wellness talk.
Commending the Arklow community and her staff on the fantastic day of fundraising, Armstrong Life Pharmacy owner Laura Armstrong said; “We certainly raised over €3,000 but we still have more donations coming in. It was a huge success. As a community pharmacy, this charity is close to our hearts, we regularly see the importance of the life-saving work of the team in CHI at Crumlin.”
Ms Armstrong thanked those who “called into the store, hopped onto our bike to pedal, donated instore and online, and everyone who went out of their way to support such an important cause”.
