Home » Kinsale pharmacist publishes photography book
Kinsale – Light and Time is a new photography book featuring the collected and written work of photographer John Collins, who is also a pharmacist. Along with his wife, Caoilfhionn, Mr Collins runs the Collins Kinsale Pharmacy, which was established in 1992.
Kinsale – Light and Time spans four decades of life in Kinsale, and features compelling documentary, landscape and underwater photographs, narrated by personal essays by the author. Among other items, the book includes an account of the successful identification, a hundred and one years later, of one of the victims of the torpedoing of the Lusitania in 1915. Mr Collins has previously published a number of other books and is an alumnus of the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and a recipient of the Arts Council Agility Award. He is also a longtime IPU member.
Light and Time is published by Atrium, an imprint of Cork University Press, and is out now in hardback, priced at €30. It is available from bookshops and online at corkuniversitypress.com.
We would like to make this a community page for pharmacists and their teams to share stories of their impact on their local area. If you are undertaking a local initiative or would like to highlight a colleague you believe goes out of their way to help people, please send us your stories. Likewise, we would like to hear from people who are making a contribution to their community outside of the pharmacy. Please contact us on ipureview@ipu.ie.Highlighted Articles
