A new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Toolkit for Pharmacy has been launched by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), providing pharmacists with a comprehensive, practical guide to integrating AI into daily practice.
FIP is the global federation of national associations of pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists and pharmacy educators. Developed by the FIP Technology Advisory Group and its Working Group on AI, the toolkit offers structured guidance on AI adoption, covering ethical considerations, implementation strategies, regulatory compliance, and real-world applications to help pharmacists optimise patient care and enhance operational efficiency.
“Pharmacists are eager to embrace AI, but many don’t know where to begin. This toolkit bridges that gap by offering a clear implementation guide. Our goal is to make this transformative technology both accessible and actionable,” said Dr Whitley Yi, Chair of the AI Working Group.
The toolkit also addresses key challenges such as variability in clinical guidelines, data privacy concerns, and commercial pressures, while providing actionable strategies, including continuous professional development, regulatory advancements, and digital tools. For more information see fip.org.
