The Veterinary Medicinal Products, Medicated Feed and Fertilisers Regulation Bill 2023 is currently working its way through the legislative process and it is in its final stages in Seanad Éireann. Once the primary legislation is signed and enacted, secondary legislation will follow. This secondary legislation will also provide additional information regarding the implementation of the National Veterinary Prescription System (NVPS).
If you supply veterinary prescription-only medicines to food-producing animals including horses, you need to register the pharmacy and pharmacists involved, with the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine to have access to the NVPS.
