HSE Circular Spring COVID-19 Booster Campaign
The HSE has issued circular NCO-15-2024 which provides an Update on the Spring COVID-19 Booster Campaign. The circular confirms details in relation to the booster campaign including commencement dates, cohorts, and recommendations. Full guidance can be found in NIAC Immunisation Guidelines Chapter 5a which has been updated.
Updated clinical guidance and support materials for vaccinators will be available in the coming days and available on HSE COVID-19 Vaccine Information for Healthcare Professionals. A new version of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Operational Guidance for Vaccination in Community Pharmacy is available here.
The NIO training module available on HSeLanD will be updated to reflect the changes. Pharmacists should undertake the updated and approved training module prior to administering Comirnaty XBB1.5 for primary course vaccination or participating in the COVID-19 Spring Booster Campaign. Pharmacists will be notified when this training becomes available.
