NIAC previously advised that if an individual had a history of myocarditis after the administration of an mRNA vaccine, this was considered a contraindication for the administration of an mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine. NIAC has amended this contraindication to a precaution and advises that any individual with a history of myocarditis or pericarditis after any COVID-19 vaccine should be referred to a cardiologist for advice before proceeding with any further COVID-19 vaccination. The COVID-19 Consent and Medical Eligibility form has been amended to include this update in the guidance and is available here.
