Submission of PCRS Paperwork

Submission of PCRS Paperwork

The PCRS has advised that the returning of yellow bags will commence with the submission of April’s claims, i.e. April’s bundle only to be submitted by the set cut-off date in May. However, please note that an agreement on the submission of yellow bags has not yet been reached. As advised previously, do not take any action or submit a yellow bag until an agreement is reached. We will update you with any progress or if an agreement cannot be reached.

We have been receiving a high volume of queries from members regarding the submission of the yellow bag and the printing of health mail prescriptions.

S.I. No 98 of 2020 of the Medicinal Products (Prescription and Control of Supply) Regulations states that in the case of a prescription transmitted by the national electronic prescription transfer (knows as Healthmail) the person dispensing the prescription shall print the prescription as transmitted and treat it as an original prescription for the purposes of record keeping. This means from the yellow bag perspective, that you need to print two copies. One copy is sent in the yellow bag to PCRS for reimbursement purposes and the other copy is maintained at the pharmacy to meet the record keeping legal requirements.
