If you are considering providing a vaccination service during the Autum-Winter vaccination season, please ensure that your training is up-to-date. The PSI has available on its website the training requirements and validity of training programmes for pharmacists who wish to provide vaccination services.
There are five training programmes that pharmacists must have completed in order to administer the seasonal influenza vaccine to adults and children from 6 months of age which are:
- CPR training.
- Responding to an emergency situation and management of anaphylaxis (RESMA).
- Parental administration of medicines training programme (PAMT).
- Delivery of pharmacy-based vaccination service training programme.
- Administration of influenza vaccination training programme.
We advise you to check both the date on the certificate of completion and the training programme validity of the training you may have already completed.
The administration of influenza vaccine training programme for the 2024/25 season is already available on the IIOP website and it is delivered by Hibernian Healthcare Limited. Click here to enrol. The Medicines Administration Parenteral (PAMT) training programme for 2024 is available through Hibernian Healthcare.
Please note that the IIOP website also provides information on CPR training, appropriate courses and approved course providers.
