A delegation from the IPU including the President, Vice-President and Acting General Secretary also recently met with Fine Gael Deputy Colm Burke T.D. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing shortage of pharmacists in Community Pharmacy and the impact this is having on pharmacists and patient care. Also discussed were pharmacy fees; seeking the introduction of a Chief Pharmacist and pharmacies role in the free access to contraception scheme announced recently by the government.
