The Long Term Illness Scheme (LTI) covers 16 conditions with medicines and appliances automatically approved as listed under the ‘Core Lists’. These can be accessed here. This page also contains lists of Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) codes of approved items.
Patients may be approved for items within an ATC group that are not on the Core Lists of reimbursable products. Pharmacists may confirm an item under the patient’s specific approval on the Secure Scheme Checker ‘To request additional drugs for this patient click here’. Approved products will appear as ‘approved’ once entered with the appropriate 777- code. Invoices for these items may be requested by PCRS and as such should be easily accessible if needed.
