Hardship Arrangements

Hardship Arrangements

We are aware that a backlog of hardship payments with local offices has been mitigated. Most long outstanding payments have now been cleared and the PCRS is making every effort to work with the local offices to ensure that this does not happen again.

We encourage those members who experienced delays with payments to write or email their local Health Office Manager seeking payment of interests under the Late Payments Regulations. Under these regulations, various State bodies, including the HSE, are obligated to pay interest if they fail to pay an invoice on time.

If you have submitted claims correctly to the HSE and these claims were not paid within 30 days, you are entitled to invoke the terms of the Late Payments Regulations 2012 in order to get paid in a timely manner. A template letter containing the details on the Late Payments Regulations is available on our website, along with the contact details of the relevant person to write to in your area and is available to assist you here.
