EEA/EU Scheme Electronic Claiming

PCRS Duplicate Dental Scheme Payments

The PCRS has indicated that they are not receiving a sufficient level of detail in some EEA/EU claims transmitted electronically. Specifically, in certain cases, a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) number is missing or is not entered correctly. This number is required for the HSE to invoice the corresponding EEA/EU country for the cost of treatment.

On our website there is a short guidance document to help identify the correct number on a person’s EHIC.

We would also like to remind members not to submit claims for the EEA/EU scheme and the Dental scheme manually if they have already been submitted electronically. This may result in duplicate claiming which would require the PCRS to recoup any excess payments.
