EEA Electronic Claiming

EEA Electronic Claiming

We want to remind you that prescriptions sent via healthmail will be accepted for EEA claims. However, since the serial number is not specified on a healthmail prescription, it will be necessary for you to enter the EHIC number of EU residents in your PMR.

For prescriptions under this scheme for UK residents, the patient identifier provided to the GP should be submitted. It is important for you to establish with the patient the form of identification provided to the GP, and that same information should be included in the claim. The majority of UK residents provide their NHS number to GP’s. Alternatively, a driving license or passport number is acceptable to confirm UK residency. Only one patient identifier number is required.

We advise you to check with your vendor where this patient identifier number must be registered in the PMR system to successfully submit electronic claims to PCRS.
