The HSE-PCRS will, in certain circumstances, cover items without a GMS reimbursement code. Prior to supply of these products to patients you will need to ensure that the products will be reimbursed by the HSE-PCRS, this can be checked by contacting Pharmacy.Response@hse.ie.
When these products are prescribed for patients with medical card eligibility, they will require individual approval through Discretionary Hardship Arrangements.
When these products are supplied to patients with DPS, LTI, or HAA eligibility, you will need to check they will be reimbursed, and once this is confirmed, include a copy of the invoice and code it with 777XX, based on the applicable VAT rate for the specific product category as outlined below:
