Pharmacist Required for IPU National Health Products Catalogue Unit
The IPU National Health Products Catalogue (IPU NPHC) wishes to recruit a full-time pharmacist to assist with the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the IPU NHPC, the original and essential database of dispensing information on medicines and related products for Irish pharmacies.

- Job Title: NHPC Pharmacist
- Reporting to: NHPC Manager
- Term of Contract: Full-time and Permanent
Key responsibilities
You will be working as part of the NHPC team with a specific remit and a focussed expertise in the area of medicines information in our NHPC which is key to our members and the wider healthcare sector. Work will include:
Professional Information:
- Maintaining medicinal product information in response to updated SmPCs, or HPRA/EMA alerts
- Maintaining unlicensed medicines (ULMs) in line with the national and IPU policy
Projects:
- UNICOM (Identification of Medicinal Products)
- DEUSG (Drug Extension User Support Group)
- MedSRI (Medicine Shortages Reporting Initiative)
Membership Support:
- Support members with queries on medicinal products and related legislation, regulations and PSI guidance
- Provide information, advice and support to members and colleagues on medicinal product issues as they arise and highlight current issues in IPU communications (newsletters, IPU Review, IPU Website, etc.)
- Contribute to and maintain content on IPU website – covered above
ISO Certification:
- Custodianship of all Assets and Risks assigned to this Role as detailed in the relevant registers as part of our ISO Certification.
Informatics:
- Develop and maintain VMP and VTM concepts and classifications
- SNOMED CT mapping
