Community Pharmacy Agreement 2025 Welcomed by IPU

- Deal delivers benefits for patients, pharmacies, and Ireland’s health service.
Friday 12 September 2025, The Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) has welcomed the announcement of the Community Pharmacy Agreement 2025, describing it as a major step forward in modernising pharmacy services, expanding patient access, and integrating digital innovation across Ireland’s healthcare system. The Agreement provides for a long overdue increase in investment to support the sustainability of community pharmacy practice and the expansion of pharmacy services. It recognises the vital role of community pharmacies as trusted health and wellness hubs, delivering safe, equitable, and efficient care.
Welcoming its announcement Tom Murray President of the Irish Pharmacy Union said, “This agreement marks a major step forward for community pharmacy and the patients we serve. It brings overdue investment, recognises the vital expertise of pharmacists, and opens the way for new and expanded services in every community in the country.”
“By strengthening the role of pharmacies, it will make healthcare more accessible and help ensure patients get the care they need quickly and conveniently.”
